Kindergarten Sight Word List-In Kindergarten we learn sight words. These are words that we learn by heart. We will learn 2 new words a week. This year I have broken the words down into lists of 10. Once your child has mastered their list they will move on to the next list. They will still be introduced to and practice the new words each week.

Decodable Stories and Sight Words-During the school year your child will bring home little books called Decodables. These Decodable stories are part of our literacy program called “Imagine It”. Each Decodable book contains a story that engages students’ interest as it provides them with opportunities to practice what they are learning in their lessons. The Decodables stories each contain several sight words. Learning to identify sight words quickly, accurately, and effortlessly is a critical part of students’ development as fluent, independent readers.
